About Me

ASHLYEE FREEMAN

I am a PhD candidate at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. My research addresses how and why employees use their networks for emotion regulation and investigates the downstream consequences for individuals and organizations. To examine how networks shape employee emotions, well-being, and performance, I employ a multi-method approach, incorporating experiments, archival and experience sampling studies, natural language processing, and social network analyses. I will graduate in the spring of 2026, and I am on the market—seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor role at a leading business school with a collaborative community and a commitment to cultivating impactful research for both our field and the workplace.

My industry experience includes advising C-suite executives as a strategy senior manager at Accenture Strategy, designing engaging employee experiences at Google, and marketing top television shows at Sony Pictures Television.  In my spare time, I enjoy creating content integrating faith, research, and professional development on my YouTube channel,  traveling, and enjoying all Shonda Rhimes’ shows. I earned an M.B.A from Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and a second major in Advertising from Seaver College of Pepperdine University.
